       Charter School Founders

       We have received many requests for information on starting a charter school in Maine.  To help meet this new demand, MACS hosted a forum for potential founders of charter schools, to discuss the process for opening a public charter school under Maine's new law and to network with others interested in founding a charter school.

       We are planning similar events in the future as the Department of Education and State Charter School Commission develop the details of the application process and eventually the performance contracting process.
